Day Twenty Two - Thursday 24th

This was the second outing of the day, and the attractions of Stevenage are wearing thin. So a quick 10 minutes down to Welwyn Garden City and a walk around Stanborough Lake. I arrived 30 minutes before sunset, but the lakes are screened by the A1(M) and trees so the Sun had actually dropped behind them by the time I had arrived. However the light was good, Blue Hour (the name for the hour after sunset), which you can clearly see in all these images. This time the camera was working and as it was going to be poor light, my tripod was with me. All these images other than the train are HDR. Today that was three pictures taken to capture a normal and an over exposed and an underexposed image, which are then combined later. This allows a wider dynamic range which captures the details in the bright sky, and the details in the shadows.
