Falconry Centre
23rd March, Herring Green, nr Bedford
This was my second visit to Herring Green farm this spring. This was the full day workshop which was not confined just as British birds as was the earlier one. The format was very similar similar. The public flying display is incorporated into the agenda however there were two private displays where we had some choice in the birds that would be flown, and then the usual stills portrait shots taken in the farm area and in the small wooded area. The weather this time was not very good. It was overcast quite dull and it was raining a little bit and windy and at least two of the birds went on strike and weren’t interested in flying. This meant it was a little disappointing. I stayed for the flying sessions but the last hour which was photographing Barn Owls in the farmyard I had done a few times before so I called it a day went and got in by nice warm car and went home early. I did get some nice shots however.
