Great Yarmouth, Horsey Wind Pump and Thurne

Tuesday 1st October, Great Yarmouth seafront

First day of my short Norfolk vacation and the rain had not stopped. It was a very wet and cloudy morning, so I thought I would go and photograph Great Yarmouth seafront out of season in the rain. Quite interesting and quite dismal.

Effectively it rained all morning with heavy clouds, so the lighting was poor. Few objectives other than recording end of season British seaside.

I had a polarising filter on the camera so was looking to reduce and take advantage of reflections where I could. They were very few people around said my photos focused really on the buildings in the weather. At the end of the Wellington Pier, I was able to get some photographs of waves in slow motion on the sea defences.

At the south end of the seafront and then jumped in the car and moved a mile north and spent a further hour and a half around the area the main pier. I think I’ve got some interesting shots of out of season seafront to remind me of a wet morning in Great Yarmouth.

In the afternoon, I visited the Horsey wind pump operated by the National Trust. The weather was very overcast but at least it had stopped raining. As the lighting was poor, I just ventured out with my X100vi and took some views of the wind pump

After taking advantage of the coffee shop I headed towards Thurn. This village is the location for a very photographed white wind pump on the edge of the river. Again the lighting was poor and the wind was strong so just some simple pictures to record my visit.
